Description

As I walked through the gates of Fox Lake Farms early Saturday morning on a crisp April morning I could hear a load of noises. The ducks quaked loudly in the pond, while the hens clucked loudly in their pens and the dogs barked loudly waking their owners.  As I walked through the pasture the cool crisp April air brushed my face filling my body with chills.  As I walked through the stables prior to letting the horses run the scent of horse manure filled the morning air with a strong odor.  After starting the day with letting the horses run, cleaning and refilling water buckets, passing out hay and feed it was nice to sit down by the rippled water of the pond and enjoyed a nice glass of lemonade.  The lemonade was slightly tart to the tongue but went down so smoothly after working long and hard on the barn. From shoveling stalls my arm muscle burned in immense pain as I finished with the last two stalls.  After all Fox Lake Farms was a great experience which opened my eyes to a whole new world.

Comparrison

When volunteering out at Fox Lake Farms it was like an artist painting a picture.  The comparison may seem broad but when stepping on to the property you get a paint palate from all the beautiful colors nestled into the wide range of scenery.  Just imagine yourself as the artist working your way through the picture exploring and adding to a beautiful work of art.  From green pastures to long old wooden stables you as the artist are sure to create a work of art.  The colors in which lie on the palate range far and wide from the blooming lilies in the pond along with the moss covered gators swimming within the same waters.  The horses running wildly and freely are like the paintbrush with their tails stroking from side to side, they also add the life to the artist’s masterpiece in which is being created.  From just a simple amount of time visiting the barn you can see all the reasons on why Fox Lake Farms is just like a picture being painted.
  •  The horses tail being the paint brush
  • The scenery being the paint palate
  • The Volunteer being the artist
